Tapochao would have undergone a dramatic transformation as the rehabilitation project for Saipan's highest peak kicked off yesterday morning in a groundbreaking ceremony where government officials and business executives touted the value of public-private partnership in enhancing the island as a tourist destination.

(Walter Sutherland)Guam golfer Louie Sunga reasserted his supremacy in the 17th Annual Tournament of Champions after winning the centerpiece Championship Flight over the weekend at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

The victory was Sunga's fifth in as many appearances in the annual tournament. He dominated five of the last six editions of the premier golf tournament in the CNMI.

(Walter Sutherland)Former CNMI junior golfer Leina Kim notched her third straight Ladies Flight win in last weekend's 17th Annual Tournament of Champions at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

Kim carded a two-day total of 1-over par 145 to extend her winning run in the Ladies Flight and easily beat 2009 champion Yun Jeong Kim (157). Former Ladies champion Yuko Togawa rounded out the Top 3 with her 158 (78 and 80).

Microl Toyota Adds 2013 Venza to Impressive List of Prizes

2013 Toyota Venza will be featured as one of the Hole In One Prizes at this weekend's Tournament of Champions.The first day of the CNMI’s premier golf event, the 17th Annual Tournament of Champions, kicks off tomorrow with about 200 players from the CNMI, Guam, Korea, and Guam.

“Many sponsors have stepped up their generosity this year to contribute to more than $300,000 in possible prizes for this weekend’s event, making this one of the biggest Tournament of Champions in its 17-year history,” said Tournament Director Ben Babauta.
