China Golf, March 2007
Four! Golf in the Marianas has come a fair way.
LaoLao Bay Golf Resort held its last tournament in August, called the Tournament of Champions, for those who qualify by entering the “Best Of” tournament. One of the lucky winners of the 'hole-in-one' contest walks away with $1 million.
Gerry Chui, administration manager of LaoLao Bay; says, “The prizes are very attractive when it comes to these tournaments. Another thing is we hold it for two days. So for example, because we have 36 holes, a person can do one full course a day. One day they can do our east course, the next our west course. Also, we have the premier tournament course in the Pacific as far as the level of difficulty goes. We offer what the advanced players ask for, and amateurs see that our course is very well taken care of. What we can offer our local customers right now is the fact that we will continue to maintain our good service, maintain course condition that they look for. Facility wise, there's more on the way. In the future we may build living accommodations in LaoLao Bay.”
