LaoLao Bay Golf Resort donates $18K to TOC

Following the completion of the 14th annual Tournament of Champions, which was played on Aug. 1 and 2,
the tournament is the beneficiary of additional funds. LaoLao Bay Golf Resort, the host course of the
tournament, recently donated $18,910 to TOC.
TOC is an annual fundraiser for the Saipan Beautification Fund and has become known as the tournament
in Micronesia. This year, $275,000 in prizes were up for grabs as the golfers hit the greens.
Since its inception, the TOC has raised $500,000. This money has been used to landscape the traffic
medians from Garapan to the Palms Resort, the revitalization of the Garapan special district, the enhanced
beautification of the Paseo de Marianas, lighting of the Beach Road Pathway, landscaping on the port-to-
path walkway and other beautification projects.
“On behalf of the TOC and the Saipan Beautification Fund, I would like to personally thank the team at
LaoLao Bay Golf Resort,” said TOC chair Ben Babauta. “Not only do they impress during tournament time,
they also give back to the community. The money they have given will allow us to further enhance the beauty
of the island of Saipan.”
